His presentation attracted interest from trawl gear manufacturers and distributors in the U.S. fishing industry. These contacts have expressed commitments to develop the rollout and adoption of Batwing otter boards throughout the prawn-trawling fisheries in the U.S.
Demonstration trials were undertaken in the U.S. during November, 2010, and these were very successful. Planning is continuing for a full set of rigorous U.S. field trials during 2011.
